It’s the best dental office I have ever been in my life. Dr. Sachar is higly professional. I came to make my front teeth prettier because they looked yellow from coffee and chipped a bit. I didn’t know what to do. I was shy to smile. She gave me several options to make my teeth white. In my case I chose porcelain veneers because I drink coffee a lot and veneers never change their color. I m so happy now, my teeth are white and straight!!!)))) Now I will do all my dental things with her - J.NU Google
Just an amazingly lovely experience, from start to finish, with great results. - Jessica. S, Google
What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are a cosmetic dentistry procedure used to change the appearance of one’s teeth and smile. Porcelain veneers are made of very thin sheets of durable porcelain that are custom made in a professional dental laboratory. Porcelain itself is a durable, translucent ceramic material. They are applied, or permanently bonded to the front teeth that are visible when you smile. Since they cover the teeth, your natural tooth structures are preserved and the surrounding gums are unaffected. They are able to cover many different types of abnormalities of the teeth including misalignment, stains and chipped or worn teeth. The shape, size and color of porcelain veneers can be completely customized and visualized. They are completely safe, and will last for very long time. Unlike other dental procedures, one can see immediate results with porcelain veneers.

What are LUMINEERS®?
LUMINEERS® are a specific brand of porcelain veneers. They are extremely thin and applied directly over the teeth without any filing or drilling. Like other porcelain veneers, LUMINEERS® are custom made for each individual patient. They are made out of a proprietary porcelain material that is contact-lens thin.
What are porcelain veneers made of?
The porcelain that is used to make porcelain veneers is an incredibly thin glass ceramic material that mimics the natural tooth enamel of the teeth. Natural tooth enamel is translucent, meaning that it allows some light to penetrate through it. Porcelain veneers are also translucent allowing them to look very similar to the natural tooth enamel. They are custom fabricated in a dental laboratory to be a perfect shape, size and color. The porcelain used to make porcelain veneers is an extremely hard and durable material in order to withstand forces and to prevent fracture and wear allowing them to look perfect for many years. They are resistant to extreme temperatures so that they are unaffected by exposure to a hot tea or a cold ice cream.
How long does it take to get porcelain veneers?
Compared to other cosmetic dental procedures like Invisalign, porcelain veneers allow us to create a perfectly aligned smile in a very short period of time. Porcelain veneers take two visits to prepare and apply. For most patients porcelain veneers can be completed in two visits that are approximately ten days apart. After your first visit, you will receive temporary veneers that you will wear until your next visit. This allows one to see a transformation of your smile in just one visit. On your second visit, you will receive your permanently bonded porcelain veneers, and your new perfect smile.
How are porcelain veneers done?
Getting your new porcelain veneers at Sachar Dental NYC starts with an initial consultation with our Cosmetic Dentists to discuss your needs, goals and if you are a candidate for porcelain veneers. If we have not already taken x-rays from your prior visits, we will need to take x-rays to ensure that there is no underlying pathology. All of the cosmetic dentists at Sachar Dental NYC have had extensive training in cosmetic dentistry and porcelain veneers at Spear Education for Advanced Dentistry in Scottsdale, Arizona. This training, along with over two decades of experience in cosmetic dentistry in NYC, allow us to have an incredibly high success rate for our NYC porcelain veneer patients. We are experts in deciding who is a candidate for porcelain veneers, and more importantly, who is not a candidate for porcelain veneers. We will determine if the shape of your bite, or the way that your teeth come together, will cause the porcelain veneers to fail. For some patients, we will adjust the size and shape of the porcelain veneers to accommodate for their bite, so that the porcelain veneers will not fail in the future.
For patients that we determine that their porcelain veneers will fail due to their bite, we will first address this abnormality. Through our extensive experience and advanced training in porcelain veneers, we know what to do in order to prepare them for porcelain veneers in the future. Prior to performing porcelain veneers, we will recommend one of the many ways to adjust the bite so that the porcelain veneers will not fail. These methods include balancing the bite such that the load is equal on all sides, or we may recommend an Invisalign treatment. We may also adjust the shape and size of the porcelain veneers to accommodate this abnormality.
Assuming that you are good candidate for porcelain veneers, we will then discuss your desires and the outcome you wish for. We will take this into consideration, along with our extensive experience and education, in order to choose the proper shape, size, length, level of transparency, and the color of your porcelain veneers. We take many factors in consideration including the shape of your face, your build, height, your overall look, and the shape and size of your natural teeth. This allows us to produce the best possible outcome and appearance.
On your first visit for application of porcelain veneers, we will file a small amount of the tooth enamel in order to make room for the veneers. At Sachar Dental NYC, we are exceptionally conservative when it comes to filing the teeth. We only remove any of your natural tooth enamel when it is absolutely necessary in preparation for porcelain veneers. Prior to filing the teeth, you may be given a small amount of anesthesia to ensure your comfort and that you have a pain-free procedure.
We will next take a mold of your teeth that will be used by our cosmetic dental laboratory to fabricate your permanent porcelain veneers. At Sachar Dental NYC, we only use the best cosmetic dental laboratories in New York City to fabricate perfect porcelain veneers. These advanced dental laboratories may cost us a little more, however, we do not pass this cost onto our patients. We will then apply a temporary veneer to protect your teeth while your permanent NYC porcelain veneer is being fabricated in the laboratory.
We will then have you return for a second visit in approximately ten days. On this visit, the temporary veneer will be removed. Your teeth will be prepared and cleansed using special liquids in order to achieve a durable and permanent bond for your porcelain veneers.
The next step before permanently bonding your porcelain veneers, is to determine what color permanent bonding cement to use. At Sachar Dental NYC, we maintain a supply of many different color cements in order to ensure that your porcelain veneers appear the exact perfect color that you desire. We will do a trial of different shades of “try-in paste”, in order to determine the perfect match of colored cements for you. Along with your input, we will be able to decide what color permanent cement to use. Many dental offices have a generic, one color fits-all cement to bond their porcelain veneers. It may cost us extra to maintain many different colored cements, however, using the right color cement makes a big difference in achieving the perfect looking porcelain veneer.
At this time, your porcelain veneers will be permanently bonded to your teeth. Before this bonding is permanently hardened, we will adjust the placement of the porcelain veneers to ensure that your bite is comfortable, and functions properly. We will then use a special light in order to permanently harden the bonding cement.
Once the strong bonding agent is completely hardened, we will remove any excess cement from around and between the teeth. We will then buff the porcelain veneers so that they are completely smooth and look natural. The advantage of being completely smooth is that your porcelain veneers withstand and prevent the adhesion of bacteria and staining agents.
What are the different types of veneers?
At Sachar Dental NYC, we perform three types of veneers. These are porcelain veneers, chair-side bonding veneers, and lab fabricated resin veneers. A vast majority of the veneers that we perform are the first two types, porcelain veneers and chair-side bonding veneers. All three of these types of veneers have the similar goal of producing cosmetic results by covering the natural teeth. There are differences in the materials and the manner in which they are produced and applied.
At Sachar dental NYC, we perform very many of all three types of veneers. At your initial consultation, our skilled cosmetic dentists will discuss with you your desired outcome, along with your budget and decide which option is best for you.
Both porcelain veneers and resin veneers are produced in a dental laboratory. Both of them are made from a mold taken of the patient’s teeth, and sent with a prescription with our instruction to the cosmetic dental laboratory. Porcelain veneers are made out of porcelain, and resin veneers are made out of a composite resin material. The porcelain veneers are by far the best option for veneers, however, resin veneers are less expensive. The advantage of porcelain over resin, is that porcelain is more translucent, more shiny and much more durable, such that they last much longer and resist staining. Resin veneers are less translucent, less shiny and less durable and staining easier. With that said, resin veneers provide an excellent alternative to porcelain when one’s budget cannot afford porcelain veneers.
The least expensive option out of these three types of veneers, is chair-side bonding veneers. Chair-side bonding veneers are made in one visit in the office by our cosmetic dentists. They are made out of tooth colored filling material. This type of veneer is not as translucent, less shiny and not as durable as the previously two mentioned types of veneers are. With that said, chair side bonding veneers are an excellent alternative to porcelain veneers or resin veneers when one cannot afford the former two types. They provided an excellent alternative that can drastically enhance the look of your teeth and your smile with teeth that appear properly aligned and more white. Depending on your tooth structure and the shape of your smile, we will determine if you are a candidate for this procedure or not.
Regardless of which of the three types of veneers that you choose, our expert cosmetic dentists will ensure that you will have results that look great and you will be happy with.

How long should porcelain veneers last?
At Sachar Dental NYC, we have many patients that come back to us for checkups and cleanings with porcelain veneers that were done in our office over two decades ago and the veneers still look great. When done correctly, porcelain veneers should last for a very long time. The expert NYC cosmetic dentists at Sachar Dental know which patients are good candidates for porcelain veneers, and take into consideration some factors that would ordinarily make porcelain veneers fail. Patients that have an abnormal bite, and abnormal load on the teeth, can easily displace or fracture porcelain veneers, just like what happens to normal teeth in patients that have abnormal bites. We make sure to adjust the bite, and the veneers to prevent these complications. When choosing patients to receive porcelain veneers, we always look for signs of clenching and grinding that may also damage their porcelain veneers. For these patients, we ensure that they have a night guard to protect the porcelain veneers and their investment.
Porcelain veneers are excellent at resisting staining due to coffee, red wine, tea and tobacco. With this said, we still recommend the patient come in for their regular checkups and cleanings every six months. We also recommend that they continue home care with brushing and flossing every day.
How do I care for my porcelain veneers?
After receiving porcelain veneers, we recommend continuing proper home care with flossing and brushing every day. We also recommend coming in every six months for your regular checkups and cleanings. If you clench or grind your teeth, be sure to wear your night guard every night. A bit of common-sense goes a long way with porcelain veneers. Anything that can damage your normal teeth can also damage porcelain veneers. For example, we do not recommend using your teeth to open plastic bags or bottle caps.

Why are we the Best Cosmetic Dentists in NYC for Porcelain Veneers?
Our top-rated NYC cosmetic dentist at Sachar Dental is truly an artist. Cosmetic dentistry has many variables that that can affect the outcome and patients’ satisfaction rates. Although we have extensive experience and cosmetic dentistry training, having an eye for the artistic component of cosmetic dentistry is even more important. Many dentists can undergo training and have experience, however, it takes an innate ability to be an artist. Our NYC cosmetic dentist has this gift! Along with an artistic ability, a manual dexterity to translate their artistic visions into reality, is equally as important. Our cosmetic dentist exhibits this amazing manual dexterity and ability to sculpt and create.
At Sachar Dental NYC, we have a tremendous success rate in performing porcelain veneer procedures. Our high rate of success comes from many factors. Our NYC cosmetic dentists have all undergone extensive training at Spear Education for Advanced Dentistry in Scottsdale, Arizona. This comprehensive training includes advanced understanding and management of complex cosmetic cases and porcelain veneers. This includes the recognition and management of patients who have abnormal load on their teeth due to an abnormal bite. Patients with an abnormal bite can easily displace or fracture their porcelain veneers. For these patients, we take this into consideration by making proper accommodations to address their abnormal bite ahead of time. For some patients, we recommend Invisalign to realign the teeth. For other patients with an abnormal bite we can make adjustments to the shape and size of the porcelain veneers to accommodate for this. We also recommend night guards for patients that show signs of wear due to clenching and grinding.
Along with our extensive cosmetic dentistry training at Spear Education, we also have extensive experience practicing in New York City and performing porcelain veneers in NYC for over two decades. We are able to visualize in advance what options are best for patients including the shape, size, translucency and color of porcelain veneers based on our patients’ appearance, facial shape and existing tooth appearance.
At Sachar Dental NYC, we are always conservative and perform the least invasive procedures possible. When it comes to porcelain veneers, our philosophy is to remove as little of the natural tooth enamel as possible to make room for the porcelain veneers. In some special cases, we are even able to perform porcelain veneers without filing the teeth at all. Additionally, we are experts in recognizing when patients only need a smaller number of porcelain veneers instead of placing them on all the teeth. Our experience in “color training” allows us to be able to place porcelain veneers only on particular teeth instead of all of them, and perfectly match these to the existing color and translucency of the natural tooth enamel. Not only does this reduced the cost of your porcelain veneers, but also reduces the number of teeth that need filing.
One of the more difficult tasks that we have as cosmetic dentists is to cover teeth that have discoloration internally due to root canal, medications during childhood or pregnancy and prior dental work. At Sachar Dental NYC, with our extensive experience and training, we are experts in using porcelain veneers to cover these very difficult teeth to treat. They are difficult to treat because porcelain veneers are translucent and allow the underlying color or the stain in the tooth to show through them. We know how to choose the proper color, translucency and thickness of the veneers to create an excellent result.
Another reason for our very high success rate and our patient’s satisfaction with porcelain veneers is our choice of dental laboratories in New York City. For cosmetic cases, we use a specific laboratory that is the best in New York City. For all of porcelain veneer cases we work with our experienced and skilled cosmetic dental technician who is also truly an artist. His individual style, attention to detail, and experience allows him to excel above any other cosmetic dental laboratory technician that we have experienced.
As always at Sachar dental NYC, we use the least toxic and most premium materials available. All of our bonding cements are BPA-free.
For more the more complex and difficult cases of porcelain veneers, we have our NYC cosmetic dentist specialist, prosthodontist, on our team, and in our office at Sachar Dental NYC. He has extensive experience for over two decades of dealing with the most complex aesthetic cosmetic cases. He also is truly an artist and excels at cosmetic dentistry. His extremely high success rate speaks for itself.
And finally, as always at Sachar Dental NYC, our compassionate dentists and dental assistants always exhibited the finest empathy, compassion and bedside manner anywhere.
