Porcelain inlay and onlay fillings are used and recommended when cavities are too large to fill with the traditional composite fillings. They are an excellent option to fill a large cavity and they last for a long time.
How long does an inlay and onlay filling last?
When performed correctly, porcelain fillings can easily last 15 years or more. It is not uncommon for them to last 25-30 years or more.
Do porcelain fillings fall out?
When performed correctly, it is rare for a porcelain filling to fall out. Part of the process of inserting the porcelain filling is to permanently bond it to the tooth.
Is a porcelain tooth filling safe?
Porcelain fillings are completely safe. At Sachar Dental NYC, we only use BPA-free sealants and bonding cements.
